Editorial standards

Editorial Standards

Autips Local is built to be useful before it is monetised. These standards keep local information source-backed, reviewable, and separate from advertising.

Source rules

Events, places, suburbs, and business listings should use official, primary, or clearly reviewable public sources where possible. Search snippets are not enough. If a record cannot be checked from a stable source page, it should be omitted or held for review.

Original local value

Autips should not republish venue or event copy with minor edits. The useful part of an Autips page should be the added planning context: who the place suits, what is nearby, what can change, and which source should be checked before travelling.

AI-assisted drafting

Drafting and quality checks may use automation or AI assistance, but source selection, factual checks, and publication decisions must stay tied to reviewed sources. AI text must not be used to invent facts, opening hours, prices, locations, endorsements, or event details.

Local business inclusion

Business lists are curated to help readers discover local options, not to sell position. Listings should have a public source, a local connection, and enough context to be useful. Incorrect or unsuitable listings can be corrected or removed through the contact page.

Advertising separation

Advertising does not decide what appears in a guide. Ads must be labelled, visually separated from content, and kept away from navigation, primary page actions, and thin pages.

Corrections

Send corrections, source updates, duplicate reports, or takedown requests to [email protected]. Include the Autips page URL and the source that supports the requested change.
