Autips Local is a public city guide. This policy covers the website and Autips Local Reporting, the operator’s Google Analytics and Search Console reporting app, which may appear as “autips” on Google’s consent screen.

Google account access and reporting data

Reading the public website does not require Google sign-in. An authorised site operator can separately connect a Google account to Autips Local Reporting using Google’s consent screen. The reporting tool requests only Google Analytics read-only access (analytics.readonly) and Search Console read-only access (webmasters.readonly). Google permissions can cover properties available to that account; our reporting tool limits its requests to Autips’ configured Analytics property and the autips.com Search Console property.

Analytics reports include aggregate user and session counts, page views, landing pages, traffic sources, engagement, events, country, device category, and dates. Search Console reports include search queries made available by Google, page URLs, clicks, impressions, average position, click-through rates, sitemap information, and stored URL indexing status. These reports do not give the tool visitors’ Google passwords, email inboxes, contacts, or browsing histories. We do not request those permissions.

Google also provides access and refresh tokens so the authorised tool can retrieve reports, including scheduled reports, until access expires or is revoked. We do not receive or store the operator’s Google password. Authorisation is optional and can be withdrawn.

How reporting data is used and shared

We use reporting data to diagnose missing or poorly indexed pages, understand which guides help readers, improve navigation and content, and compare results before and after website changes. Read-only access does not allow the tool to edit Analytics or Search Console settings, delete their data, or request indexing.

Reporting data is used by the site operator and tools or service providers the operator authorises to prepare these reports and website improvements. Relevant report data may be processed by an operator-selected analysis assistant for that purpose. Raw exports and credentials are not published in the public website. Any shared results should contain only the aggregate findings needed to explain site performance. We do not sell Google reporting data or use it for advertising targeting, credit decisions, or training general-purpose AI models.

Autips Local Reporting’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Website advertising is separate from the reporting tool’s Google API access.

Reporting storage, security, and retention

The reporting tool runs on an operator-controlled computer. Credentials are stored outside the website source and public assets, with file access restricted to the operating-system account. Report exports are stored separately from public website files with restricted file permissions. Requests to Google’s APIs use HTTPS. These safeguards reduce exposure; no storage or transmission method provides an absolute security guarantee.

Credentials are retained while the reporting connection is needed. Downloaded reports are retained for comparisons and investigation until the operator deletes them; the current tool does not automatically expire exports. When the reporting connection is retired, the operator must revoke the Google grant and delete local tokens. Reports no longer needed for the review should also be deleted. Copies held in an authorised analysis service are subject to that service’s storage settings and must be included when handling a deletion request.

Revoke access or request deletion

You can remove the app’s access in your Google Account third-party connections. Revocation prevents future authorised collection but does not automatically delete reports already downloaded. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of reporting data held by Autips, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your authority over the connected property before acting. Do not send passwords or tokens. Removing local reports does not delete the source data retained by Google Analytics or Search Console.

Information we publish

Autips publishes local guide content such as places, events, suburbs, local businesses, guide articles, and source links. Most listing information is collected from publicly available official or reviewed sources. If a business listing is incorrect or should be removed, contact us at [email protected].

Advertising cookies

Autips may use Google AdSense to show advertising when ad serving is enabled. Third party vendors, including Google, may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, and other identifiers to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to Autips and other sites on the Internet.

You can read how Google uses data from partner sites at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Users may also opt out of some third party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting aboutads.info.

Analytics and service providers

Autips may use hosting, security, search, and advertising providers to operate the website, prevent abuse, and improve local guide content. Autips also uses Google Analytics 4 to understand site performance and page usage. These providers may process technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and approximate location derived from network information.

Cookie consent

Autips does not require an account to read the site. Where consent is required for advertising or analytics cookies, Autips should request consent before those services use optional storage. Essential hosting and security logs may still process technical request information to keep the site available and safe.

External links

Autips links to official event pages, venue pages, local business websites, and other third party sources. Those websites operate under their own privacy policies and terms.
