Eureka Centre lists this school-holiday activity on 23 September 2026 from 11am to noon at Eureka Centre Ballarat. The Corangamite CMA River Detectives session takes children water-bug hunting at Lake Penhalluriack in Eureka Memorial Gardens, using field testing kits to explore macroinvertebrates and freshwater health. Tickets are $5 per child with accompanying adults free, bookings are via Eventbrite, the activity is aimed at ages 6 to 12, adults must supervise, equipment is provided and wet-weather clothing including gumboots is recommended.
