Former Ballarat Orphanage Heritage Interpretation Site

City of Ballarat says the heritage interpretation works at 200 Victoria Street are now open to the public. The site recognises the former Ballarat District Orphan Asylum, Ballarat Orphanage and Ballarat Children's Home, which operated there for 117 years, and acknowledges lived experience, Aboriginal connection to the land and Stolen Generations significance. The completed works include a new entrance arch, sculptural marbles, text and image panels, outdoor seating and shelter, plus landscaping designed for play and quiet reflection.
