City of Ballarat says Lake Esmond was formerly a quarry, then replanted and revived as a lake and reserve. The listed facilities make it a useful low-pressure family stop. Use it as a short family-friendly outdoor stop near Canadian and Ballarat East, especially when a full museum or paid attraction would be too structured.
