City of Ballarat describes Lake Wendouree as central, next to the Botanical Gardens and near Victoria Park, with a 2000 metre rowing course and recreational activities on and off the water. It is the safest outdoor anchor for mixed groups because visitors can shorten the walk, add gardens or pause at playground and picnic areas as conditions allow.
