Details
City of Greater Bendigo describes Canterbury Park Gardens on Sailors Gully Road as the jewel in the crown of the Eaglehawk Open Space Precinct. The gardens date from the 1870s and are known for dahlias, palms, roses, ornamental planting and the annual Dahlia and Arts Festival. The surrounding precinct also includes Lake Neangar, Lake Tom Thumb, Canterbury Park Oval, sports and events spaces, McKern Skate Park, Peter Krenz Leisure Centre, an events lawn, trails, an amphitheatre, a jetty and island, so it gives Eaglehawk a practical all-ages outdoor anchor beyond the existing playspace record.
