Lake Lorne Reserve and Wetland
Drysdale freshwater wetland reserve with waterbird watching, walking paths, free parking and nearby public toilets.
Details
The current council reserve page places Lake Lorne at 51-59 Reserve Road on the urban edge of Drysdale and describes a natural freshwater lake of about 12 hectares. It highlights wetland habitat for black swans, blue-billed ducks, egrets, coots, snipe and other waterbirds, plus walking around the lake and a link to the Bellarine Rail Trail for longer walks. Listed facilities include environmental values, free parking, public toilets and walking path access, with picnic and playground facilities nearby at Drysdale Railway Station. Fishing, hunting and watercraft are not permitted, so use it as a quiet wetland and birdwatching stop rather than a general lake-recreation venue.
