It says the museum is housed in the most intact 19th-century colonial prison in Victoria, opened in 1853 and closed in 1991, with displays covering prison conditions, criminal-history artefacts, colonial prisons, the hulks, Stitched Up, Saga Behind the Armour and Eureka Stockade material.
